Parliamentary update29 August 2026 · National Assembly

Motion of no confidence in the Speaker

Al Jama-ah did not support the motion of no confidence brought against the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Honourable Thoko Didiza.

Speaking in the House, Honourable Imraan Moosa set out the party’s position: that it stands for stability rather than political disruption, for unity, and for service to the people rather than political games. He paid tribute to the Speaker and closed on the party’s call for the strengthening of women in leadership — Malibongwe.

Statement supplied by the office. The parliamentary leader designation for Al Jama-ah is recorded in the office’s own material.

A message from Honourable MP Imraan Moosa

Believing in the leaders of tomorrow

My work goes beyond Parliament. It is about being part of our communities, encouraging our youth and believing in their potential.

Beyond the halls of government, I remain dedicated to a vital purpose: inspiring and mentoring young people. Inside every young mind is an idea that can change our community for the better.

I believe every young person has the power to dream, to lead and to make a difference.

  • Believe in yourself.
  • Believe in your ideas.
  • Believe in your future.

Never let anyone tell you that you are too young to lead, or too small to make an impact. Rise up, step forward, and take your place.

When we invest in our youth today, we build stronger leaders for tomorrow.

Honourable Imraan Moosa, MP · Inspire. Mentor. Empower.
