The journey of Honourable Imraan Moosa began in Lenasia, Johannesburg — a community that played a significant role in shaping his character, values and commitment to service. Growing up in a diverse and vibrant community helped develop his understanding of the importance of unity, compassion, responsibility, and standing together during challenging times.
He attended Park Primary School before completing his schooling at Trinity High School. As Chairperson of the Student Representative Council, he gained valuable experience in representing others, listening to concerns, and understanding the responsibility that comes with leadership.

Serving the people of Lenasia as a Ward Councillor placed him at the centre of community challenges. His work included engaging with residents, assisting with service delivery concerns, escalating municipal challenges, and ensuring residents had a representative who was accessible and responsive.

In June 2025 he entered the National Assembly as a Member of Parliament representing Al Jama-ah, continuing a journey that began with community service and grew into national representation. Today he focuses on representing communities, promoting accountability, and bringing community concerns to national attention.

Oversees South Africa’s foreign policy, diplomatic relations and international engagements, ensuring they align with the country’s constitutional values, national interests and commitment to global cooperation.
Oversees programmes supporting sports development and cultural preservation, and promotes access to sport, arts and cultural opportunities across communities.
Oversees the justice system, reviews justice-related legislation, and monitors access to justice and constitutional matters.
An alternate member attends and participates in place of a full member when required. This is a distinct appointment from full committee membership.
Through continuous interaction with communities, Honourable Imraan Moosa works to strengthen partnerships, address challenges, support vulnerable groups and promote opportunities that contribute to community development.
